House adjourned till 11.30 am

Bhubaneswar: Ruckus continued in the Odisha Assembly as Speaker Pradip Amat Wednesday adjourned the House till 11.30 am due to uproar by the Opposition Congress and the BJP members.

As soon as the House session began at 10.30 am, the Congress members demanded a clarification from the Agriculture minister on the massive scam in the sapling plantation. Supporting the Congress, the BJP members also sought a reply on the same issue and non-utilisation Central assistance for construction of National Highway.

When the Speaker turned down their demands and ordered resumption of Question Hour, the irate Opposition members rushed to the podium in the well of the House, urging him to initiate a discussion on these issues.

Unable to run the proceedings, the Speaker adjourned the House till 11.30 am.

Earlier in the day, the Speaker accepted a motion of the Congress for discussion on the issue of the SC and SC communities. The discussion is expected to commence during the Zero Hour at 11.30 am.
